Moritz is a beer brand established in Barcelona in 1856. It was relaunched in 2004 and remains in production to this day. The brewery is located on Ronda de Sant Antoni in Barcelona and was founded by Louis Moritz Trautmann, a Frenchman from Alsace.
In today's dynamic beer world, where competition is fierce and trends are constantly evolving, breweries are in a continuous quest to stand out and maintain their relevance in the market. This is the scenario in which Moritz, a brand with a long history and roots in Barcelona, has decided to undertake an ambitious branding project to update its visual identity.
The primary goal of the branding project is to give Moritz a modern and consistent visual identity that reflects its position as the leading beer in Barcelona and responds to the needs of an increasingly demanding market. To achieve this, we have carried out a meticulous redesign that preserves the key visual elements that make the brand recognizable, while making significant updates to refresh its image and strengthen its market presence.
The decision to update is based on several key factors. Firstly, the Moritz product portfolio has changed, particularly with the introduction of Moritz 7. This has created a need to align the brand identity with the new internal and market reality. Secondly, there is a lack of coherence in the design of the product range, with elements that are not organically integrated, which hinders the perception of solidity and consistency that is expected from a brand of Moritz's size.
The redesign of Moritz's visual identity has resulted in a stronger, more coherent, and vibrant brand image. This has reinforced Moritz's position as a leading brand in the beer sector and has given it a stronger market presence. The redesign marks the beginning of a new chapter for Moritz and represents an important step in its evolution and adaptation to the demands of an ever-changing market.
